You are in the process of hiring for a role in your team and are approached by a senior leader about their niece, who has been shortlisted for an interview. Through mutual friends in the industry, you have heard negative feedback about this candidate's attitude and performance, yet you're conscious that there may be an underlying expectation of this candidate being successful.
